Good morning from grey old Dublin, and book club chatter!

Posted by:

Where on earth has the morning gone? I am still sitting in my jammies, with two over weight cats fighting for desk space (and increasingly limited space that is too) wondering what on earth to wear to the Scales of Justice gig tonight. A suit I suppose, but golly I need to get to the dry cleaners.

For those of you who emailed, the new book is coming along nicely and yes I promise, it’s a QuicK Investigation novel. All going ...

The Chosen – Hot Press review

Posted by:

From the November edition of Hot Press.

Arlene Hunt’s The Chosen is a change of direction for the Irish crime author. Set between North Carolina and Tennessee, this is her first novel where the action takes place outside Ireland.

The Chosen is in shops now!

Without wishing to disillusion them, I tried to explain how writing a novel was one thing, but the real difficulty author’s face is getting published. And that even should they be lucky enough to get an agent or a publishing house, there is still a long ...

New York, Temple Bar, South Africa, Arklow!

Posted by:

It’s been a busy few days here at HQ. Besides waiting for the roof of my office to go the way of Dec Burke’s trampoline, I’ve been busily organising something of a small tour for  The Chosen.

So far we have the launch on October 19th at The Gutter Bookshop, the 22nd October, I will be at Easons, in The Bridgewater Centre in Arklow, to sign and have a chat about all things crime.

29th October: Heading South ...

On Portnoy Publishing and The Future.

Posted by:

When I started writing first I was as green as a HB Fat Frog. I couldn’t type, did not understand the concept of grammar; indeed could barely get my head around commas let alone semi-colons and colons. The only thing I was sure of was that I wanted to tell stories and in that regard I have been lucky enough to be allowed follow my dream.

From getting an agent – the peerless Faith O’Grady from the Lisa Richards Agency ...

Presenting ‘The Chosen’ cover

Posted by:

Okay, behind the scene busy bees were being busy, goldilock style worker fairies were getting this cover ‘just right’ and lo, I think we have cracked it.

This is the cover for the new book, I am so excited about it I am typing this while hovering an inch above my seat. Publication details to follow.
