I was most upset to miss the launch of Down These Green Streets in No Alibis up in bonny Belfast. The fates on this occasion conspired against me, but by all accounts it looks like an excellent night was had by all.

Aside from the launch itself I was rather hoping to catch up with my pal Brian McGilloway and congratulate him on his latest book, Little Girl Lost.

It’s easy as a crime fiction writer to gloss over on occasion the true agony of crime and brutality. But behind every murder, every rape, every stabbing, kidnapping or assault, real flesh and blood people suffer and it behooves us all to remember that.

Gosh it has been a busy period. Between finishing Fair Game, and working on a new novel it’s been pretty much all go. Much like the fat wood pigeon in my back garden, I feel more buoyant than I actually am.
